So my new obsession has been iced chai. I have always loved chai but never attempted to make a concentrate until recently. Most times I do drink it iced however it's also perfect warmed up on a rainy day.
Ingredients:
5 C. water

8 whole cloves
8 whole cardamom pods

3-inch piece fresh ginger, chopped
1 Tbsp. orange zest
1/4 C. maple syrup
1 1/2 Tbsp honey
1 Tbsp vanilla extract
Directions:
- Add water to a large pot and boil.
- While water is heating chop up your ginger, mix spices, and zest orange.
- Once the water is boiling, remove from heat and add spices, tea bags, zest, and ginger.
- Let the mixture steep for 15-20 minutes.
- Pour concentrate through a mesh strainer.
- Stir in vanilla, maple syrup, and honey.
- Store in the refrigerator
To serve, mix equal parts concentrate and milk of choice.
